3/12/20 CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

FYI: This is another update on COVID-19.

Please know that I absolutely understand that anxiety levels are rising every day and every minute during this unprecedented and very fluid situation. During times like these communications regarding what we are doing can sometimes help to alleviate your anxiety. Therefore, we have created a new page on our district website with updated information and resources for parents. The link is http://www.wbridgewaterschools.org/coronavirus-information--15

\r\n

We will be updating this page as frequently as possible when we receive new or useful information.

\r\n

Also as an update, similar to last weekend, we will be performing another deep cleaning of the buildings over this weekend. We are hoping that these cleaning measures will keep our school environment and our students and staff healthy.

\r\n

I'm sure that you are aware that several schools in Massachusetts have announced extended closings, along with many area colleges and universities. At this time West Bridgewater is not considering an extended closing. However, please understand that this could change at any minute and please start thinking about how you could prepare in the event that we have to close the schools.

\r\n

The administration, faculty, and staff are currently preparing a plan for on-line learning in case we have to close the schools. In order to assist us, a questionnaire will be emailed to all parents regarding your technological capabilities at home.

\r\n

Tomorrow, the Department of Public Health and the Commissioner of Education is having a conference call for all Superintendents in Massachusetts. If the situation changes after this conference call, I will send out another update.

\r\n

At this point, I think all we can do is stay informed, make sure we continue to practice the safety health tips that were posted last week, and stay positive. We will get through this.
