Update on Fall II sports from Athletic Director, Ms. Hammel:
On 1/29/2021 the MIAA Board of Directors voted to approve sport-specific modifications for the Fall II Season. The following sports have been approved by the MIAA for the Fall II Season: Cheerleading, Football, Indoor Track, and Unified Basketball. You may view all MIAA sport modifications on the MIAA COVID-19 webpage HERE. There will be no MIAA sponsored post-season tournament for the Fall II Season.
As we look forward to the Fall II season, WB will be offering Winter Track, Boys Ice Hockey, Football and Fall Cheer for the Fall II season. There is a Mayflower Athletic Conference (MAC) meeting on Thursday, February 11th to discuss the status of these Fall II sports and to determine which schools in the MAC will be participating. The start date of these sports is still to be determined. Currently, the MAC Fall II season runs 3/10-4/30. It is possible that practices could begin on 2/22. After the completion of the MAC meeting on 2/11, information on the status of these sports will be emailed out to our students and families. We look forward to an exciting Fall II season!!

Spectators for WB Athletic Events:
Per the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs(EEA) spectators are limited to 2 adults, parents/guardians and siblings of a participating player. We will only allow home spectators at the WB games.
Each player will receive 2 lanyards that will be used for parents/guardians to attend games. I hope to have them out to teams by the end of this week. I will be in touch as soon as they are all set.
Spectators must wear facial coverings and maintain six feet of social distance at all times

We will be holding an Athletic Awards Drive thru for last year’s varsity jacket and team plaque winners this Saturday, 12/19 from 9-11AM in the front of the WBMSHS. Students please check your email for updates.
Students receiving their varsity jacket were sent an email this past Friday. Plaques will be handed out for the teams below that won the Mayflower Athletic Conference and EAC Champs. Please contact with Ms. Hammel with any questions.

Tryouts for the boys basketball team will be held Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday this week for grades 10, 11, and 12. The tryouts will be from 2:15 to 3:45 each day. You must have signed up on family id and have a current physical to be able to try out. Please see Coach Antonio, Coach C or Ms. Hammel with any questions.

Highlights include:
Modifications for the sports of Wrestling, Indoor Track, winter Cheerleading and Dance were not created or presented due to committee recommendation for those sports to be moved to a different sport season. Indoor Track is moved to the Fall II Season and Wresting, winter Cheerleading and Dance are moved to the Spring Season.

On 12/20 the MIAA Board of Directors voted to approve sport-specific modifications for the Winter Season. These modifications will continue to be reviewed as they relate to current regulations surrounding COVID-19 and may be modified if necessary. Additional modifications or the decision to participate in MIAA-recognized winter sports will be determined by local school districts and/or their local Board of Health. The MIAA Board of Directors meeting is over. The winter sports season will begin December 14th.
Basketball, Ice hockey, Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, Gymnastics, and Swimming and Diving will all have seasons.
