MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Well today is the big day! Any student interested in joining Video Club, we will have an informational meeting today after school in the TV Studio. The Video Club is open to all students grades 7-12. Interested in making great video content? Already love making videos? Want to make them better? Stop by Monday and find out what the Video Club is all about!

The Environmental Club will have a quick sign up meeting after school Tuesday in room 217.  Any interested members must attend. 

Have the fallen pine needles decided to land all over your car? There will be a boosters car wash on Sunday the 26th from 12pm to 3pm at the town hall. Rain date is Sunday October 3rd, same time. The boosters need student volunteers for the car wash. You can sign up to volunteer in the office.

Attention drama club:  Today’s meeting has been moved and rescheduled to Wednesday, September 22nd, after school in the auditorium.  There will be no drama meeting today.   New members are still welcome to join the club! Please see Mrs. Brogna with any questions. 

The Global Citizens are looking for new members for the 2021-2022 school year. What is Global Citizens? Its a club for students who are interested in languages, travel, other cultures and educating themselves and the community about important issues, practices and places around the world. If you’re interested and want to learn more, come to the first meeting in the language lab on Wednesday September 22 at Powerblock. Request an E-Hall pass from Mr. Ennis or Mrs. Fouguere

The next debate team practice will be Wednesday after school in room 202. Did you miss the first meeting but are still interested, don’t worry you can still join! See Mr. Ennis with any questions. 

The girls varsity soccer team lost to Durfee 5-4 on Friday.  They fought hard to the end.  Come support them as they host New Bedford tomorrow.

The girls JV soccer team defeated Durfee on Friday 7-1. Bella Morash had 2 goals, while Jill Bouvier, Sam O’Neil, Mack Ryan, Kerri Gomes, and Sophia Hulmeeach had 1. Strong Performances by Alyssa Catino, Aly Bassett and Charlotte Lone in the midfield. Sammie Morse and Kerri Gomes each had a strong game in net!

The Field hockey team played against Whitman-Hanson. Varsity tied 3-3, goals scored by Lexi Levine, Olivia Razza and Rachel Smith. JV won 4-0. Lauren Holland scored all four goals, assisted by Kadence Gill. Great job ladies! Our next game will be home on Thursday afternoon against Silver Lake, we hope to see you there! 

Are you passionate about social justice and helping those in society? If so then join ACTION club!  During club meetings, we will be focusing on important issues in society such as oppression of minority groups, ableism, racial and LGBTQ+ justice, and working towards equality, as well as educating others on these issues. This is a safe place for people to come together and share their experiences. Anybody from any grade is welcome to join! We will be meeting every Tuesday during Power Block in the band room. New members are always welcome anytime.

Any sophomore, junior, or senior interested in purchasing a class ring can pick up a ring information packet and order form from Mr. Winchell in Room 215.  Class ring orders will be taken on Thursday, September 23rd from 4:30-6:00pm in the lobby and during lunches on Friday, September 24th.

(Sept 20) The Wildcat Cafe is serving Asian chicken over rice, burgers and Big Daddy’s pizza for lunch today along with freshly made grab and go wraps, subs and salads. This week’s featured wrap is Honey-mustard BBQ chicken. Breakfast choices include sausage and pancakes on a stick with tots, soft pretzels, breakfast sandwiches and assorted pastries. All meals are free but make sure to take at least one serving of fruit or vegetable.

The MIAA is holding its 21st annual Sportsmanship Essay/Multimedia Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 9-12 and entries can be in the form of an essay or video. The contest theme is “Title IX and sportsmanship make high school sports better because…” There are some sweet cash prizes for contest winners so scan the QR code on your screen. The contest ends on October 15.
