MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Reminder Powder Puff sign ups are today and tomorrow only!!! This event is open to any girl in grades 9-12 who would like to play a little flag football  and any senior boy who would like to be on the cheerleading team.  The fee is $20. per student and this fee includes your team shirt.  Sign ups will be in the cafe today and tomorrow during Power Block.  If you have any questions please see MaKenna Walsh or  Mrs. Flynn in room 112.

Attention students who wish to participate in a Drum Circle, We will be holding our first meeting this Friday during power block in the Music Room.  Be sure to write your own Pass to Mr. Nenopoulos, and to show this to your power block teacher.

Ms. Hammel is looking for a student to help collect game information from our coaches to enter into our morning announcements document. Please see Ms. Hammel in the athletic office for more information.

Attention Freshman & Sophomores who are interested in running for class office. Elections will be taking place on the week of October 4th to select the class officers for the Class of 2024 & 2025. If you are interested in running, please see Mrs. Longo in room 203 for a nomination form and for more information. 

The Varsity Volleyball team defeated Avon in three straight sets. Serving was the name of the game as Freshman setter Ava Harkins had 24 aces out of 28 attempts.  Zero serves missed. Every player on the team made contributing plays to the match.  Junior Leila Oliveira went 3 for 4 in defensive passing. Senior middle Lily Matta had 3 kills for the night followed by Senior outside hitter Emma Marchetti with 2 kills.  The Wildcats improve to 7-2 overall with a record of 4-1 in conference play. The next match is away on Friday vs BR.  

The JV Volleyball team extended their winning week with a straight set victory against Avon! Every player succeeded in their role and the team totaled over 15 aces! We are back in action Friday at BR at 3:30.

The cross country teams lost tough meets at Tri-County yesterday.  Ella Dunbury won her 2nd race of the season for the girls team.  Regan Mullins and Viviana Morales Wakin had courageous races as well.  Hayden Razza and Eric Ames led the way for WB boys squad.  Sam Souza, Ryan Geniuch, and Jack Neilan had strong races for the Wildcats.

Guidance News

Juniors and Seniors, we’ve got a couple colleges visiting this week: University of Miami will hold a zoom  on Friday, Oct 1st at 10am in Guidance conference room. BayPath College visit is cancelled. I’m waiting to hear back from UMass re: information for a zoom visit instead

Seniors don’t forget to always be checking your emails, as there will be lots of information that you need to be aware of.

PSAT is Saturday Oct 16, 2021at WBMSHS at 7:45. Please sign up and pay in the Guidance office.

The Wildcate Cafe is serving chicken nuggets and noodles, personal cheese pizza and bbq pulled pork sandwiches today along with their freshly made grab and go salads, wraps and powerpacks. The featured wrap this week is chicken bacon ranch. Sausage and pancake on a stick, pretzels, egg sandwiches, warm donuts, smoothies and assorted pastries are available at break. Don’t forget to take a fruit, juice or veggie!
