A partial hospitalization program (PHP)can be an option when a student needs more support than outpatient therapy but does not require 24/7 inpatient care. PHPs offer a structured, day-long treatment environment while allowing patients to live at home, bridging the gap between inpatient and outpatient care. Days at a partial hospital program include group counseling, individual counseling and sometimes medication management. Often the hours are 9-3 and the treatment can 2 weeks or longer.
