The Smash team played two different schools yesterday, one a match and one a scrimmage. The match against New Brookfield was a quick and decisive victory; however, the scrimmage against Fuquay-Varina High School’s Bengal Blazers was an incredible challenge, most games going to the best of three wins. Despite some amazing play, the Blazers took the scrimmage. The Smash team remains at 2-0 for the season.
There will be a clothing drive from march 6th to April 5th clothing should be new or gently used or for ages newborn to 13

Continuing with National School Breakfast Week’s theme of “Surfs Up with school breakfast, today’s featured hot breakfast is a new “Hang 10” freshly made fluffy scrambled egg and cheese and sausage egg and cheese crunch wrap. Other choices include a variety of pastries, soft pretzels, uncrustables, assorted breakfast sandwiches, Sunrise luau smoothies, Brownie yogurt parfait sundaes and the “pick 2” snack rack. For cereal lovers, check out the new cereal varieties at the speedy cereal display in front of the milk chest.
For lunch, the hotline is serving chicken ziti and broccoli with garlic knot rolls. BBQ pulled pork on a bun is at the grill and the pizza station has crunchy mozzarella sticks with marinara. Freshly made grab and go’s include chicken caesar salads and wraps, Buffalo chicken wraps and salads, vegetarian mediterranean wraps, bagels w/ yogurt, tuna and ham subs and uncrustables.
Please think about reducing food waste! Only take what you think you’ll eat and put unopened juice, fruit, and other sealed items in the share bins for others to enjoy.
Please put unopened food in the share bins- you may not want it but another student might still be hungry!
